Sometimes it's just hard to find the motivation to start working on stuff, just like an engine with a low charged battery.
For those times, sure we could use a small push to start. As usual, it's harder when you are automatic. Or when you depend on a complicated system of variables to get everything in sync to run smoothly, like a Formula 1 engine. On those days you give your 100%, but only perform at a small fraction of your potential.
Now, if you could work on a fail proof system which let you map the key input variables to each output skill, you should be able to run full throttle on a very specific thing, without wasting energy on things that require more than you can offer on that particular moment. Just like a high tech engine can switch off some cylinders to save some fuel.
Then again, beware of the abstractions you choose to implement, for not all of them may lead to an acceptable outcome.
