Do we really like to live in a world where Spa-Francorchamps may not be allowed to host the Belgian F1 Grand Prix until 2026? Just because some silly noise pollution complains by local home owners...
I knew we were heading this way when they said F1 won't return to Nürburgring Nordschleife on the grounds of safety. And that was a long time ago.
Motorsport is dangerous, motorsport is noisy, but also motorsport generates a considerable amount of income for local people wherever it goes, at least Formula 1 does.
So people, stop complaining and take it. Most of us would be happy to have those cars noise-polluting near our homes one weekend per year. It definitely would make our lives way better.
This is totally unrelated to the fact that Spa is one of the best race tracks in the world, that it looks great on TV, that it allows great racing, and that I still plan to attend the race in the near future. Totally unrelated to those facts, or not...
